Lemon Butter Chicken

Ingredients
- 1 chicken, washed and drained
- 2 tablespoons garlic flakes
- 1 teaspoon Aromat (South African Spice)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons crushed red chillies (powdered)
- 2 tablespoons Worcester sauce
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
Method
- Mix the ingredients above and marinate the chicken for a few hours.
- Cook the marinated chicken in a flat pot with a little oil until the chicken is fully cooked.
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons mayo
- 2 tablespoons mustard sauce
- 3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce (or any chili sauce)
- Cook the sauce ingredients together in a small pot, stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes.
- Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken.
- If you like it saucy, feel free to increase the amount of sauce to your liking.
Vagaar (Tempering)
- Little butter + oil
- ½ chopped onion
- 3-color pepper in strips
- 1-2 tablespoons til (sesame seeds)
- Curry leaves
- Braise the above ingredients together in a pan until the onions turn pink.
- Pour this tempering over the chicken and close the lid to let it simmer.
- While warming, shake the pot gently from side to side to mix everything.
Info & Tips: You can adjust the amount of Worcestershire sauce for more tanginess.
Additional Tips:
- For extra richness, you can add a dollop of cream to the sauce.
- Serve this with rice or buttered naan for a complete meal.
- If you want a spicy kick, add a bit of chopped fresh green chili to the sauce.
